Wild Wdnesday 2nd August 2017- Summer Camp Day 7

Wild Wednesday

Or should it have been named 'Wet Wednesday'? Either way, the weather did not get in the way, we decided to bring the nature inside and carry on regardless.
Today we started off under the little shelter with our usual 'circle time' getting to know each other, and a few games- duck, duck-goose! And 'does it come from a tree?' The rain soon blew over and we were able to hunt for little critters, today we were mainly searching for spiders!! Eeek! And why does my daughter have a fascination with slugs is beyond me?!?

Paula ran the yoga sessions today and we split the group into the little ones and older kids. While each yoga session was running, the other group prepared 'damper' bread to cook on our afternoon fire-sweet was raisin and cinnamon and savoury was cheese.

Afterwards we started on some willow woven dream catchers, some having a wooden disc in the centre, the kids then painted an appropriate Forest School word onto each central disc. The results were gorgeous. We had a mucky afternoon of making clay creatures and the older ones created clay tiles decorated in mark making patterns using natural materials. We finished off round the fire, baking our bread, toasting marshmallows and popping popcorn!!
Another fab day and super group of kids at the Foxlowe. I even remembered to give out some certificates.
